McKinney has a distinct, abundant and diverse spirit in part because of the history that shaped it. For many years, the city leadership’s vision in preserving our history has purposely crafted a town that offers the best ofthe old with a dynamic present and a very promising future.
McKinney is a town that is developing quickly. A diverse and thriving economy, a premium way of life and leadership and are leading the way for continued growth into the future.
In the August 2012 issue of Money Magazine, McKinney ranked No. 2 on the best places to live in America. McKinney is the only Texas city in the top 10. Money editors and writers evaluate employment, schools, crime and safety and overall quality of life aspects tocome up with the list.
“The city offers plenty of housing options, from starter homes to old Victorians and ‘Texas-style’ five-bedrooms. Low taxes have lured companies with white-collar jobs in technologyand energy, a new hospital opened in July, and a conference center and hotel complex is inthe works.” McKinney also boasts “easy access to rolling green hills, golf courses, andleafy open spaces lacking in neighboring towns.” – Money Magazine
